The Groundbreaking Ceremony for Kumamoto Christian International (KCI) Was Held!

On October 15, 2025, the groundbreaking ceremony for Kumamoto Christian International (KCI)—scheduled to open in April 2026—was held in Tatsuta Chinnai, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City.

Under the clear autumn sky, parents of Hilltop International School, representatives from Hokuyo Construction, and many other guests gathered to offer prayers of gratitude and blessing to God.

During the ceremony, Pastor Youji Nakamura and Pastor Jeliff led heartfelt prayers, followed by a time of worship and prayer shared by all attendees.
Pastor Nakamura spoke on the theme, “The Bible is the foundation of our lives, and children are precious gifts from God,” delivering a message that resonated deeply with everyone present.

★Led Here by God’s Guidance★

Representative Mr. Marty Tomao reflected on the journey that led to the founding of KCI and shared the following words:
“In 2022, I heard God’s voice and was led to build KCI. We looked at many locations, but each time I felt, ‘This is not the place yet.’
Through prayer, God guided us here to Tatsuda-Jinnai. At last, we are able to build KCI in the perfect place that God has prepared for us.”

The new campus is located on a hill surrounded by greenery, with a spacious park in front and beautiful mountains in the background.
In this peaceful environment, children can connect with nature, experience the wonder of God’s creation, and learn with joyful and enriched hearts.

★Opening in April 2026 — The Journey Begins!★

Kumamoto Christian International will open in April 2026 with its Elementary Division (Grades 1–3).
In the future, the school will expand to higher grades and grow as a new kind of international school rooted in the community, offering Christ-centered education.
